Chemical Dependency Unit

The Camden CDU (Chemical Dependency Unit) opened in 1985. Since then, we have built our reputation on excellence by providing quality care through the expertise of a highly trained staff and the most efficient treatment for our patients.

With Ouachita’s treatment model it has helped drive success within many of our alumni patients for over 35 years. This treatment model has been able to be so effective because of its blend of the best attributes of the medical/behavioral, family systems, and the 12-step addiction recovery models. Our professional treatment team develops an individualized treatment plan that to meet the unique needs of each patient. We are a safe, supportive, and environmentally therapeutic place for patients to address the issues and struggles related to their disease and helps start their road to recovery.

We have many options available when it comes to our treatments and services. These services include: intervention, medical detoxification, educational therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, aftercare, employee assistance, partial hospitalization, psychological evaluation, psychiatric evaluation, and physical examinations.

The program at Camden CDU helps patients develop the motivation to maintain total abstinence from mood-altering chemicals to develop a personal support system that will promote life-long health and productivity. To make sure you will accomplish this, we offer a FREE Aftercare group for patients and their families following the completion of the treatment. This support group is an important asset to assist the chemically dependent person in making a successful return to their home, community, and occupation.

We are professionally licensed by the state of Arkansas and hold memberships in the American and Arkansas Hospital Associations. Our treatment program is affordable to employers, employees, and family members through coverage by most major commercial insurance companies.
